Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge Skill Center

Description: Learn what it means to be a citizen of the United States by participating in a variety of sessions, visiting a site that is on the National Register of Historic Places, and touring a Federal Facility.

When: July 7th; 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Where: Drop-off and Pick-up are at the Old Courthouse, program is at the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse

Railroading Merit Badge Course

Description: Join us aboard the rails for a new, day-long Railroading Merit Badge Workshop. While traveling on an Amtrak train between St. Louis and Springfield, Illinois, Scouts will learn the ins and outs of railroading from history to safety to economics, presented by National Park Service Staff. In Springfield, boys will have the opportunity to explore the Lincoln sites with National Park Service staff. 

When: June 9 or August 4; 6 am to 3 pm

Where: St. Louis Amtrak Station; 430 South 15th Street, St. Louis MO

Additional Costs: Course is free; Amtrak tickets cost $25 to $35 per person

Pre-Requisites: Will be given upon registration

Law Merit Badge Skill Center

Description: Boys will have the opportunity to get the Law Merit Badge, while also re-enacting a trial in the Old Courthouse and debate historic and contemporary issues.

When: August 10th; 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Where: Old Courthouse; 11 North 4th Street

Boy Scout NOVA Day

Description: On this event boys in attendance can receive the "Start Your Engines" NOVA award and the Electricity Merit Badge. They will be building an electric Pinewood Derby vehicle.

When: Saturday, April 18th; 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Where: St. Louis Science Center; 5050 Oakland Ave.

Additional Costs: $38 registration fee, covers costs for materials.

Pre-Requisites: For "Start Your Engines" must have requirement 1 completed before hand to get award. For the Electricity Merit Badge you must have requirements 2, 8, 9a completed before hand to get the merit badge.
